Anh & Andrew's Wedding: Swedenborgian Church, San Francisco, CA

Anh & Andrew were married in an intimate ceremony at the most quaint craftsman-style church in San Francisco. The Swedenborgian Church sits on a corner in the Pacific Heights neighborhood behind brick and stucco walls and wrought iron gates.  The inside of the church is warm with rich wood tones and a crackling fireplace. Andrew & Anh made the perfect choice for their intimate affair at this lovely venue.

Isn't she stunning?!

After the ceremony, Anh and Andrew wanted to do portraits at the nearby Palace of Fine Arts, and then we stopped by Crissy Field to get a few shots in the blustery San Francisco summer. Due to the chill factor and the loved ones waiting back at the church to begin the reception, we only did a few quick shots at each location.

There is no denying the connection between these two.

On the way back to the church, we stopped at these steps overlooking the Presidio and the Bay. In true San Francisco form, there was a velvety blanket of white covering much of the area, but it made such a soft backdrop for this sweet couple.

There was no resisting getting some ring shots in the garden back at the church.

And the house on the grounds was the perfect location to get warmed back up as the couple shared their first dance as a married couple, and they smiled the night away with their closest family and friends toasting the new adventures to come in their lives together.

Cheers to Anh and Andrew and all the joy and adventure to come!

Denielle & Richard's Engagement Shoot

You know when you can be out at the crack of dawn in the blustery, gray morning that is summer in San Francisco and you still feel warm inside you must have found the right person to hold your heart.

We met Denielle & Richard at Crissy Field to catch the glorious morning light overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Well, in true San Francisco fashion, the bridge was completely fogged in. Like you could kind of see the very bottom of one of the pillars sometimes, but mostly it was all just gray. So we all played it flexible and went to location number 2 first.

We went down the road a few blocks to the Palace of Fine Arts. The Palace of Fine Arts never fails.

These two were so natural with each other.

After getting some fun shots we decided to give the beach at Crissy Field again. It was still quite foggy but it made for a fun shoot anyway, with just a hint of the bridge under the fog.

We're excited to shoot Denielle & Richard's wedding in just a few months!

Eduardo & Hannah's SF City Hall Wedding

When I asked these two how they met I learned that Eduardo came to The United States from Brazil for two things: 1) his American Dream, and 2) his Dream Girl - particularly Hannah. They were introduced by a mutual friend and began a long distance relationship. Eduardo must be pinching himself because his dreams came true when he moved to California and now he's married to his dream girl.

Before the ceremony, Eduardo and Hannah did their paperwork and met with the judge. It was a little more friendly than the usual government paperwork session.

Their ceremony took place in the Rotunda. What an amazing venue! Eduardo and Hannah tied the knot in a short and sweet ceremony surrounded by their closest family.

It would be hard to find a more grand location for a special event. The sunlight streams in through the large windows all over the building, and the gold details everywhere make you feel like you're in a palace. What a treat for doing some amazing wedding portraits!

These windows are just too glorious to pass by.

Leave it to San Francisco to change your perceptions of a city hall wedding.

Hannah and Eduardo requested a shot crossing the street in front of City Hall. I didn't get what they meant originally with just a 'crossing the street photo' until they mentioned The Beatles. Then I understood the angle they were looking for. It was a fun, lighthearted way to end our shoot.

This wasn't Abbey Road but it wasn't a bad excuse to stop traffic for a few shots either.

Wishing Eduardo & Hannah a lifetime of happiness and love!

Alison & Evan's Wedding: Ravenswood Historic Site, Livermore, CA

Alison and Evan were married on a warm summer day surrounded by friends and family. Their rustic country theme fit in perfectly with the Ravenswood Historical Site where they shared their vows in a ceremony officiated by Evan's father.

Alison looked stunning in her lace and pearls. And Evan, really pulled of the suit and cowboy boots, and I never even heard him complain about the heat! And trust me, I know he was feeling it. But he was ever the gentleman and kept his cool and made sure that his new wife was comfortable and content.

Lots of sweet treats were included in the festivities, including guest favors of jars of honey to commemorate Alison and Evan's song, Blake Shelton's Honey Bee. And the sweetheart cake and guest cupcakes were the perfect way to round out the day.

We were honored to be part of Alison and Evan's special day and we wish them the best!

Venue Spotlight: Eagle Vines Vineyards & Golf Club, American Canyon, Napa Valley

We'll be photographing a wedding late this summer at this great venue in American Canyon, Eagle Vines Vineyards & Golf Club. After booking the wedding I went to do some Internet research on the venue but didn't find a lot online. I recently made a trip up to check things out with the bride and her most important ladies. I had actually never been to the area before, but was pleasantly surprised at how close it is to the East Bay, and even more awed at how beautiful it is!

Behind the clubhouse, in the midst of views of green grass, rolling hills, and lush vineyards, they've got a great tent to hold your reception. There is a creek trickling by, a grassy open space where you can hold your ceremony, and vineyards just to the right. As you'll see below, the interior of the tent has a nice rustic vibe that can be customized to go along with your style.

We had lunch in the clubhouse restaurant while we were there. The restaurant staff, as well as the event staff, were all extremely friendly and accommodating. See the bottom of this post for contact information.

There is a lot more to see around the grounds, but this was just a sneak peek. You'll have to check back to see the actual wedding photos some time in September!

After my visit, I am even more excited about coming back to photograph my lovely bride on her special day!

If your looking for a Napa style wedding venue I encourage you to check this place out!
