Danielle & Steve's Wedding: City Hall, San Francisco, CA

We first met Steve and Danielle last spring when Steve asked us to document his proposal to Danielle at Sutro Baths at sunset. They were in town from Seattle and Steve and I coordinated the logistics via email and text. Thankfully Danielle said 'yes', and we were so thrilled when they reached out a few months ago saying that they were going to be back in San Francisco this April and wanted us to document their City Hall wedding. This time, of course, we said yes!

Fast forward to their wedding day, I met Steve and Danielle at The Inn at the Presidio where they were staying along with with their families. We got some portraits there before we headed to City Hall.

Can we just take a second to talk about how gorgeous Danielle looked?! Her dress was perfect on her, and those flowers and her coordinating lipstick just popped off her dress and skin.

One of the cool things about getting married at City Hall is that you can get your marriage license the same day as your ceremony. The ceremonies are quick and then there is plenty of time to enjoy the amazing venue, which we definitely did!

After getting all the shots we wanted inside of City Hall, we headed across the street to the plaza at the Veterans Memorial. Like the gentleman he is, Steve carried his bride acorss the street to give her feet a little break.

I love shots like these, where life is happening all around, but the couple is focused on each other. This shot below makes me smile every time! Check out the school boys passing in the background - especially the one on the right side of the frame running to catch up with his buddies.

And then there were Danielle's flowers again, and her stunning rose gold and diamond ring.

Danielle and Steve are enjoying their honeymoon in Italy now. I hope to continue to keep up with where life takes them, and maybe have another opportunity to photograph them again in the future! Best wishes, you two!

Justine & Mitch: Engagement Shoot: Fort Point, San Francisco, CA

We had planned this shoot weeks in advance. But in the days leading up, Justine and I were both checking the weather and noticed that it was due to rain. So we made the decision to change locations to a place that would offer cover from the rain when needed, as well as pavement so we didn't squish into the mud.

Now mind you that I usually don't mind tromping through mud or getting wet in the rain. But when you've got a future bride with her makeup and hair done, a hot new pair of boots, plus white jeans, sometimes you just gotta make the decision to play things safe.

We were so happy with our decision. First, it poured all morning and into the afternoon. And secondly, the location we chose was amazing. Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is such a neat place to visit. And by the time we got into our shoot the rain had taken a break and we were able to get out by the Bay and get some great shots in front of the water.

A special bonus during our shoot: a rainbow! That has to be a good omen for these two, right?!

And Justine and Mitch are just not a perfect pair, they are a fun family. Their two boys came along for some shots that kept the day light.

Can you tell these guys are Raiders fans?

We're looking forward to Justine and Mitch's wedding next spring!

Anh & Andrew's Wedding: Swedenborgian Church, San Francisco, CA

Anh & Andrew were married in an intimate ceremony at the most quaint craftsman-style church in San Francisco. The Swedenborgian Church sits on a corner in the Pacific Heights neighborhood behind brick and stucco walls and wrought iron gates.  The inside of the church is warm with rich wood tones and a crackling fireplace. Andrew & Anh made the perfect choice for their intimate affair at this lovely venue.

Isn't she stunning?!

After the ceremony, Anh and Andrew wanted to do portraits at the nearby Palace of Fine Arts, and then we stopped by Crissy Field to get a few shots in the blustery San Francisco summer. Due to the chill factor and the loved ones waiting back at the church to begin the reception, we only did a few quick shots at each location.

There is no denying the connection between these two.

On the way back to the church, we stopped at these steps overlooking the Presidio and the Bay. In true San Francisco form, there was a velvety blanket of white covering much of the area, but it made such a soft backdrop for this sweet couple.

There was no resisting getting some ring shots in the garden back at the church.

And the house on the grounds was the perfect location to get warmed back up as the couple shared their first dance as a married couple, and they smiled the night away with their closest family and friends toasting the new adventures to come in their lives together.

Cheers to Anh and Andrew and all the joy and adventure to come!

Denielle & Richard's Engagement Shoot

You know when you can be out at the crack of dawn in the blustery, gray morning that is summer in San Francisco and you still feel warm inside you must have found the right person to hold your heart.

We met Denielle & Richard at Crissy Field to catch the glorious morning light overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Well, in true San Francisco fashion, the bridge was completely fogged in. Like you could kind of see the very bottom of one of the pillars sometimes, but mostly it was all just gray. So we all played it flexible and went to location number 2 first.

We went down the road a few blocks to the Palace of Fine Arts. The Palace of Fine Arts never fails.

These two were so natural with each other.

After getting some fun shots we decided to give the beach at Crissy Field again. It was still quite foggy but it made for a fun shoot anyway, with just a hint of the bridge under the fog.

We're excited to shoot Denielle & Richard's wedding in just a few months!
